2010 Meeting Vendor Survey

We had 43 responses for a >40% return rate.  That is very good.  Thanks to all who participated this year.

Please provide any suggestions or comments you have that would help improve the meeting.

  • for me from ________ it was just difficult to get to from either Austin or San Antoine. closer to either of those cities would be fine.
  • Over all the meeting went well. As the location to go places everytihng was kind of far and could be an issue with those who might drink to much. A meeting at the same location would be okay once the area builds up more.
  • Hopefully our next scheduled meetings we will have the AREA group participate and/or have the Technician Fun Fair arranged in that they would have to stop by our booth and answer our questions that we submit-
  • I think that a program (similar to the National Meeting) for technicians to go by each booth to get answers to questions submitted by the vendors would be very beneficial (from both sides). All completed forms from the technicians would go into a bin and 1 would be picked as the winner. I am sure we could come up with a good prize...
  • Having attended the show for the last 5 years, I think it needs some change....not sure to what degree but it just seems stale.....same people each year with very few new faces. We need to be able to attract new people!
  • Keep the format of having beverages/snacks/Silent Auction in the vendor area. Posted vendor table arrangement prior to set up time.
  • the place for the meeting was nice. However, location possibly negatively affected attendance
  • Going back to having the vendor hall closed during certain times, there were talks that I wanted to attend but was afraid to leave my table. Vendor Hall hours would allow vendors to attend these talks.
  • Try to get the AREA kids back. Tech fun fair questions - can we do that again? can breaks be extended to 1hr? Can awards banquet be moved back to lunch time on Thursday? Better attendance!
  •  Yes, shortening setup time and lengthening exhibit time would work. We have to be there anyway, we just as well have access to potential customers. 2. The first day there was no time set aside specifically for attendees to visit with vendors and traffic was very low in that area. The breaks need to be longer and specific to vendor time. No other activities should be scheduled at the same time. This needs to be promoted/encouraged to attendees as time to visit the vendor area. I would be in favor of longer, specific times set aside for vendors on a given day and less total days that vendors are in attendance. I other words, have vendors there for one day with a 2-hour window specifically for attendees to visit with vendors.
  • Tough decision on question two. Although hall is empty at somw times, it does give people a choice of where to be especially if they are not interested in current talks. Excellent room arrangement this year. Keep auction items at the back so people must pass through the room
  • After hour events, social in exhibit area directly, not in adjacent rooms. Fun fair?
  • Good show. Leave it as it is.
  • I think you have done a great job now and in the past. 1. I like 8-12 set up because I can not always be there first thing in the morning. 2. Traffic at the booths does have long periods of dead time, but at least if there is a talk not interesting to someone, they can at least visit the exhibit hall. Thanks - That's my 2 cents worth.
  • Maybe break a little longer and then close vendor hall. Attendence seemed sparce this year. Staying closer to Houston would likely improve attendence, maybe The Woodlands.
  • The traffic was pretty lite this year and many people told me it was because several companies would not pay to send their people to a place that close. I do not know if this is true, but a more desirable location might increase attendance.
  • Dedicated vendor hours seem to work best for small meetings. Plus, we are then free to attend sessions too.
  • I think a more centrally located meeting would increase the geographical demographic to include the more northern facilities.
  • Perhaps confirm enough rooms at host location to hold all attendees.
  • I would like the exhibit set up times to be 10am-12pm. The second day, exhibit hours can be from 8am-12pm. I believe you should have a drawing set up during the exhibit hours to encourage attendees to stop by the individual booths i.e. a game where vendors have to stamp or sign the attendees cards for them to submit their names in the drawing.
