TBAALAS awards are presented annually at the Branch meeting. Watch the web site and your newsletter for nomination forms and deadlines. Think about recognizing co-workers all through the year, then nominate them!
Helen Jordan Vendor's Award This award is presented each year to one of our Allied Trades friends for their support and involvement in the Texas Branch of AALAS. The Awards Committee is responsible for judging and selection of the Helen Jordan Vendor's Award sponsored by Dr. Charles A. Montgomery, Jr.. This award recognizes individuals who have through their support advanced the TBAALAS goals and purposes of continuing education, training and knowledge exchange.
Technician Recognition Award "Rookie‘, ‘Non-Supervisor ‘and ‘Supervisor' awards are presented to animal care technicians, animal health technologists, research technicians or supervisors for outstanding contributions to the field of Laboratory Animal Science. These award winners receive a plaque, $100 honorarium and a free TBAALAS membership for 1 year.
LGL Animal Care Products Presentation Award
Award given for noteworthy presentation, poster or oral, at our annual meeting by a non-professional (no DVM's or PhD's eligible). The winner receives a plaque and $100 honorarium from LGL.
Harlan Presentation Award
Award given for noteworthy presentation, poster or oral, at our annual meeting by a non-professional. Winners receive a plaque and $100 honorarium from Harlan.
Alternative Design Presentation Award
Award given for noteworthy presentation, poster or oral, at our annual meeting. The winner receives a plaque and $100 honorarium from Alternative Design.
PWI Presentation Award
Award given for noteworthy presentation, poster or oral, at our annual meeting. The winner receives a plaque and $100 honorarium from PWI.
Allentown Caging Equipment Facility Manager Award
Presented to a TBAALAS member who is an outstanding animal facility manager. The winner receives $250 honorarium and a plaque from Allentown Caging.
Charles River Laboratories Outstanding Clinical Veterinarian Award Presented to a TBAALAS member who devotes at least 75% of his/her professional time to clinical laboratory animal medicine and sustains superior clinical performance. The winner receives a plaque from Charles River.
Technician Scholarship Award
The Education & Training Committee awards a stipend to a TBAALAS member to attend the AALAS National Meeting. The winner is selected from applications and support letters from employers.
